Since 1972, Atelier Shinji has been creating fun, approachable jewelry. Every piece is designed and handmade by the Naoi family—Shinji, Matico, Ippei, and Janine—together with their staff, Taguchi and Yokosaka, at their atelier and shop in Ginza, Tokyo. True to their commitment to craftsmanship, the team handles every stage of the process—design, casting, and production—entirely in-house. Direct communication with customers remains central to the brand, with all pieces sold exclusively at their dedicated Ginza shop.
OUR PROCESS
Atelier Shinji Ginza pieces are designed and handcrafted using the lost-wax method. To express the warmth and playfulness at the heart of every design, collections are often realized in high-purity silver (Britannia silver 958). The soft beauty of this metal is cherished, and because no nickel is used, the pieces are gentle even for those with sensitive skin. Other materials, including 18K gold and platinum, are available upon order, and an ongoing 18K gold and platinum series is also offered. Learn more about custom-made jewelry here. CONTEMPORARY COLLECTION
Drawing on food, fruit and vegetable, botanical, nature-inspired, and Japanese motifs that reflect seasonal traditions, this collection creates fun, unique, and modern jewelry. Each series is built around a clear concept, with recurring themes inspired by both the urban landscape and the natural world. Every piece is originally designed with warmth and playfulness at its core.
CLASSIC COLLECTION
Shinji Classic is rooted in plant motifs and designed by Shinji Naoi, who was deeply inspired by Art Nouveau while living in Paris in the 1970s. The collection has continued ever since. This timeless range blends delicate Japanese motifs with the fluid elegance of Art Nouveau, crafted in 23K vermeil.
18K GOLD & PLATINUM COLLECTION
Select pieces from the regular collections have been reimagined in 18K yellow gold and platinum, alongside new designs created especially for these premium materials. The pieces are more delicate in scale and can also be made in 18K white gold upon request. Customization is available for the entire premium collection.
